The Rise of the Beast. Revelation 13:1-18. KJV 1. The Beast from the Sea (Revelation 13:1-10) The chapter introduces the first Beast, rising from the sea, representing a global, political power opposed to God. With ten horns and seven heads, it symbolizes a coalition of kingdoms or nations that blaspheme God, wielding authority for forty-two months (symbolizing a period of great tribulation). 3. The Beast from the Earth (Revelation 13:11-18) A second Beast emerges from the earth, often referred to as the False Prophet. This Beast works to promote the first Beast, performing miraculous signs and demanding that the world worship the first Beast. The False Prophet enforces the mark of the Beast, a symbol of allegiance to the Antichrist. We are reminded that in the midst of this tribulation, God's people must persevere and stay faithful, knowing that the ultimate victory belongs to Christ. The "Doomsday Clock of Revelation" is ticking, but our hope rests in the eternal reign of Jesus Christ.
