Well, let's turn back to the fourteenth chapter of the gospel of Mark, the fourteenth chapter of the gospel of Mark. With the beginning of this chapter, we enter into the events that lead up and include the crucifixion and the resurrection. This, as I said this morning, is the section in Mark's gospel that we would call the Holy of Holies. This is where we go behind the veil, as it were, into the place where the blood is shed and sprinkled. This time symbolically, but genuinely to satisfy God and to provide redemption for all who would ever believe. This part of the life of our Lord, these final hours of His life, really are the Holy of Holies of Scripture. All of the Bible has led up to this point and all redemptive history, beginning in eternity past with God's plan to slay His Son as a Lamb comes to its highpoint, its fruition here. So from chapter 14 on through chapter 15, into chapter 16 is going to occupy our attention and keep it focused on the death and resurrection of Christ, the long-awaited glorious atonement and sacrifice and ransom and redemption provided for sinners...
