On Friday, I felt an urge to sing the haunting music of “Unchained Melody” to the Lord Jesus as a love song of my own to Him. Jesus never leaves or forsakes us as His bride. Isaac Watts used to take the popular songs of his day and write Christian words to them. I sensed the Lord leading me to sing this “Unchained Melody” to Him with these new and loving words. As I have felt God’s leading to prepare our hearts this week for our Seder meal tomorrow evening, and Tuesday evening and to prepare us for our Good Friday Candlelight Communion Service before next Sunday, Resurrection Morning, these words came to me. They are words of my love to Jesus that I hope will be words of love from us all. “Precious Lord, my Savior, I think of You so much, I know, You are mine; Years go by and Jesus, I’m humbled by Your touch, Upon my life, I love You, Lord, I need You, Lord, You are my Lord, my God. Every time I pray, You are there, You are there, Opening Your ears up to me. Even in the night, when I wake, You are there, Hearing every prayer, every plea. Precious Lord, my Savior, I see You on the cross, dying, there for me. You took my sins and sorrows and nailed them to Your cross; I praise Your Name; You are my King, my Lamb, my King! I praise You King of Kings!” 3 The Lord has given me three texts today and each of them has the same point, but I want to focus on three different aspects of the title today—“Behold The Obedient, Humble Lamb! Let’s look as these three aspects as we prepare for our Seder Meal and our Candlelight Communion Service on Good Friday! |
