"The uncertainty of life and certainty of death deprives Job of any hope that things will ever be any different than they are, and when it's over, it's over. Friends there are so many people living with this kind of outlook on life today – even many Christians. Most of the time you can see it in their eyes. There's just nothing there – no light, no hope that anything will be ever be any different than it is. But I want to say that yes, life is full of uncertainty. What Job says in verse 2 about man withering like a flower is true. The Apostle James says the same when he writes in James 4:14 What is your life? For you are a mist that appears for a little time and then vanishes. There **is** great uncertainty to this life. We all know people who were sitting in these pews this time last year but now are no longer here. We do not know what tomorrow may bring, but friend do not let the pain of the present and fear of the future rob you of your hope."
