The Week when God Intervenes_20 John 12:1-50 Series the Identity of Jesus.John begins the most memorable week in the history of the world. The week begins with the arrival of Jesus in Bethany on His way to His ultimate destiny in Jerusalem where He would be crucified. Mary was anointing the king for his entry into Jerusalem on the following day and preparing him for burial. Jesus alludes to his burial, reminding everyone that his time on earth was brief and should be valued. It would not be long. Before Mary would go to Jesus, to him to anoint his body. Mary had no idea of the deep significance of her actions. But her actions demonstrated her wholehearted devotion to Jesus. Jesus isn't asking you to understand everything that He's doing through you. He desires your devotion to him. As we look back on the events of the cross and the resurrection, we know that Jesus is our risen King. And by using the illustration of the seed, Jesus was explaining. The impact his death would have on all people, including these Greeks. A seed, once planted, will grow, transform and produce fruit. Jesus Would lay down his life on the cross, but through that sacrifice he would draw people from around the globe to himself. Jesus is death on the cross paved the way for all to have a relationship with God. And if you haven't yet put your faith in Christ. This is the best time to come to him as God and Savior.
