Much trouble comes to those who believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, and much criticism and scorn from the world, especially upon those who preach the Gospel. Is it then worth serving the Lord in His Kingdom in this world? This chapter gives us this argument and Paul reasons through the principles to this conclusion, "therefore, be ye steadfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord." 1. Christ's Kingdom of grace brings an eternal and complete salvation. 2. Kingdom work can never be in vain. It is the work of the Lord; it is God's work and will bring him glory in his own way. 3. We must therefore be steadfast and unmoveable. We must be like Paul who was ready to be offered for Christ. The King of the Kingdom is glorious and worthy of our service.
