When people think of a Presbyterian church they often think “infant baptism.” But the word “Presbyterian” speaks of the functioning government of the church and is a term is taken right from the pages of Scripture. “Elders” or “presbyters” are seen throughout the Bible, and their function points to, first, a plurality of officers in a church, and second, an accountable connectivity between the churches. Wolf River Presbyterian Church is not an independent church, but a church connected to others as we seek to model our teaching, worship, and practice after the example of Scripture. |
