This message is about security and daring joy that is the portion of those who understand the gospel particularly as it is expressed in Romans 5:1-11. This message begins in Genesis 50 where subsequent to Jacob's death Joseph's brothers show themselves to be the forerunners of John Bunyan's "little faith." Little faith is mugged by three sturdy rouges: guilt, faintheart, and mistrust. Joseph's brothers imagine crisis where there is none; where the exact opposite exists. They are not the last to do so. Romans five is a stunning sequence of doctrinal propositions that must be carefully considered. Do not take for granted that people understand the context of Romans 5 or even what the message of that chapter really is. No one is really an established believer who does not grasp the actual condition of lost people as Romans 5:6-10 presents the condition of lost people. The New Testament doctrine of reconciliation addresses a two-sided, not a one-sided estrangement. The implications of this are more than huge.
