Somewhere at the base of the Mount of Olives there was a garden named for an "oil press" (Gethsemane) which was there or had been a prominent feature in the past. Here, Jesus brought His disciples to escape the crowds during their trips to Jerusalem. Here, He rested with them, prayed with them, and taught them. Judas knew well where to find Him. On this cold night, the Lord came to pray with His disciples one final time before the greatest tragedy in history would take place the following day. His hour had come. As the Lamb of God, He would suffer and die. As our Great High Priest, He would bear our sins upon a "tree." The agony had begun: "My soul is exceedingly sorrowful, even unto death" (v.28).
