The Question, Who is Jesus
We have been looking at Jesus at the feast of Tabernacles. He had come to the people and taught in the temple. The passage today looks at just two points of what was going on. We don't hear about what he had taught, or even most of what has happened at the feast. John has just picked a couple of highlights from the story. The first thing that this chapter shows us is the opposition that surrounded Jesus. Everyone was starting to go against him from friend and family in his home town to the religious leaders in Jerusalem. The second part we see here is the confusion over who Jesus was. Everyone was talking about Him and asking, “Who is He?” This is obviously one of the most important questions that can be asked. Jesus is going to answer the question in the lesson today.
