Sadly, it takes deep troubles in our lives before we will sincerely seek God. Jacob is in trouble after his sons had slaughtered the men of the city and they were in jeopardy of their lives. They were all very blessed to have someone in their family who had found God before in times of trouble and knew where to go and how to find Him. Jacob took his family to the same place where he had met God long ago and where his father and grandfather had also found God. The people of our generation would do well to follow Jacob's example and give up on these new ideas and new ways of worship, which are nothing but idolatry, and find God where our fathers did, and the same way they did.
