Why Should Easter Matter to Me? Genesis 3:1-7We celebrate Easter to worship our eternally perfect God who separated Himself from every other deity by choosing to give up His own rights and life to restore and save the rights and lives of His creation. There is only one God who gives up what He deserves to give His creation what they don't. That's our God. He's why we celebrate Easter. Jesus took on the darkest evils of the world through the worst death, just in case you'd decide to believe in Him 2,000 years later. The new series is "The Hill to Calvary." We're going to look at why there is an Easter and what it means for us. It's been said that the lessons taught in the book of Genesis contain all we need to know about living a full and complete life, with God's blessing. Join us for this journey into the past that is designed to help God's people chart their journey into the future. In Chapter 1 the bible talked about how God created the heavens and the earth and all that is within it. And God's response to everything He created was to say that it was good. This morning we'll hear God say for the first time that something isn't good. And we'll see something take place that isn't good at all. And we'll learn what God plans to do about it. Today's story unfolds in three stages or three acts and then God steps in. Let's see what happens in Genesis three that pertains to the future of Easter. It's a picture of our own rebellion against God. It's a picture of our run from God. It's a picture of our own ruin. Why Should Easter Matter to you are to Me? Jesus crushed the devil's head when He was resurrected from the Grave 3 days later.
