And here the author of Hebrews corrects them. It's perfection is not in answering all that we need… it's perfection is in directing us to the one who is the answer for all that we need. It is not perfect in that it makes us perfect. It is perfect for its task – which is to show us that we are not perfect, not right but sinful. It is not perfect in delivering to us a way righteousness and justness. It is perfect in setting up a demand for righteousness and justness and bringing us under the sentence of justice so that it may direct us to the provision of God's mercy. And Listen, God's mercy was the destination the law was bringing us to.
