The consequence of obeying God’s word is a life full of abundance. Through the Spirit, we find out that we are loved by God. We are His children. Christ following parents should desire that their children know and believe that they are children of God. Our debt has been paid in full. If we share in His sufferings, we are co-heirs with Christ so that we can also share in His glory. God prospers His children, but if our goal is material wealth then the love of the Father is not in us. Our priority is to do the will of God, whether we are prospering or suffering. God is love and God is sovereign. Our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that awaits those in Christ. The creation is destined for redemption, which means that there will be a new creation. We should live healthy lives so that we can do what God has for us to do, not so that we can impress ourselves or others. If we are children of God, whatever problems that we have now are temporary. We need to patiently wait for Heaven. Jesus and The Holy Spirit are interceding for us even when we don’t realize it. God does not say everything that happens to us is good. He does say that all things that happen to us are for our good. For those not in Christ Jesus, things work for disaster. When we are going through hard times, we can know that the consequence is going to be something good.
