While the Medes and Persians surround Babylon, King Belshazzar throws a magnificent party. In a demonstration of incredible pride, Belshazzar almost dares God to strike them as He had Nebuchadnezzar by using the holy vessels captured from the Jerusalem Temple in an unworthy fashion. God's hand showed up and Babylon fell.
1. God Evidences Belshazzar's Pride. (5:1-4). 2. God Reprimands Belshazzar's Pride. (5:5-23) 3. God Judges Belshazzar's Pride. (5:24-30)
Babylon's last official act was to honor Daniel, faithful to the end. Man may have the first word, but God always has the last word. May we acknowledge our need of God!
