Do You Believe? - Message 13 - Faithful Prophets. We examine Samuel, seeing how he was dedicated to the Lord and came to serve the Lord ministering before Him at a young age. We also see the many ways that Samuel pointed to Christ and His time as a child before beginning His public ministry. We also examine the main focus of the ministry of the Old Testament prophets, seeing how they were used of God to proclaim and record for us the Word of God, serving as the foundation of the Church along with the Apostles, Christ being the Chief Cornerstone. Looking at verses 33-34 we will look briefly at Daniel and his friends as just two examples of those who by faith shut the mouths of lions and quenched the flames in the fiery furnace. In closing we will see how the faithful amd their faith serve to point us to Christ. The Apostle Paul asks how we can overcome this fallen fleshly body and the propensity we have to sin even after experiencing the Lord's grace and mercy and forgiveness. He says that our only hope comes from God through the Lord Jesus Christ. In following the example of the faithful prophets we see that we have a need to hear the gospel and to trust Christ on a daily basis if we are to live in obedience to God and His Word.
