Adversity is one of God’s great teachers. Adversity helps us to realize that the Lord is our protector and encourager who always answers prayer. You might want to escape to the moon when troubles come. But you cannot live on the moon. One of the reasons you cannot live on the moon is that there is not enough gravity for us. Living in low gravity will eventually cause your bones and muscles to deteriorate. There is not enough pressure or resistance. We need the pressure of problems and the gravity of trouble to keep us depending on the Lord. Dependence on the Lord, running to the Lord and persevering in prayer, keeps us spiritually healthy.
