The Crossing of the Red Sea Exodus 13:17-22; Exodus 14:1-31 INTRODUCTION: After 430 years of sojourning in Egypt, the Israelites were delivered from Egypt but not yet from the Egyptians. This is frequently the problem in the lives of Christians. We are delivered from the world, but the world follows us into the wilderness. In fact, the wilderness time is a time to cast off the remaining vestiges of the world. Sometimes, as was the case with the Israelites, this process is slow and difficult. Yet, God is always available to conquer the foe—if we will but trust in Him. I. THE ISRAELITES LEFT EGYPT (Exodus 13:17-22) A.
