Romans 8: 15 For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father. 16The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God: 17And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together. • Would it be accurate to say that most of us have experienced fear at some point in life? • Would it be accurate to say that most of us have experienced seasons of life where fear dominated us? o I mean anxiety-producing, sleep depriving, soul-crushing, reality-altering fear. o The only way to eliminate fear is to live in faith. o This is not a state of being that we arrive at and stay at.  We must be sober and vigilant  We must stand  We must choose, actively, to look unto Jesus the author and finisher of faith.
• DO not surrender your sovereign will to FEAR o Fear is brought to the children of God to try to distract them from reality and to try to render them useless in the service of God o Fear distorts reality o Fear robs you of your freedom o Fear steals your life-force o Fear makes you sleep-deprived o Fear causes you to make poor, near-sighted choices o Fear prompts you to do mind-numbing activities and perhaps use mind-altering substances o Ultimately, fear is sin, and sin brings death.
