But the "signs" Jesus gave were ultimately having little effect on the religious leaders over whom Jesus nevertheless "grieved". The disciples were chosen and the workload became almost overwhelming. But what we especially glean is the "Objective" is set forth, which is to "save life" (psuche = souls). And we also see that when the God's Kingdom prospers, there will inevitably be "Opposition". Interestingly the source of opposition was not just from His foes, but also from His friends.
