The revelation that as adopted sons and daughters of God we are to be co-workers with God in His creational and redemptive purposes is the key to finding great worth in all the work that God gives us to do. In this we are neither to be big-headed at such honour, nor belittle the wonder of such a calling, especially when we know that much of what we do is small and unworthy of bearing such dignity.
That the Father is pleased to do His works through us even as He worked through His Son should both encourage and amaze us. This does not mean we do nothing but simply wait on God to work through us. Rather we are to use the gifts and opportunities that He provides to labour with Him in building the true City of God trusting that He will establish the work of our hands even as He established the work of His Son.
