Book reference: The Everlasting Presence. http://www.newcreation.org.au/books/covers/239.html
The Scripture calls us God's holy people, but this is not so much a commentary on our behaviour as it is the effect of God's sanctifying presence. Clearly, we must act as God's people, but the virtues at the heart of this new way of living are humility and meekness. The world has never understood these qualities, as much as it may attempt to emulate them. Christ himself is our Peace, and Cornerstone of ourselves as God's dwelling place. Only he can destroy the hostility latent in us all, and only the Spirit make the unity in which humility and meekness are the norm.
