The Blind Man Who Saw the Light_17 John 9:1-41Man is spiritually blind, and his eyes need to be opened. The mission of Jesus is to open the eyes of man. This miracle is about a man who was born blind but was able to see after Jesus healed him. Jesus pointed the question away from why and on to the idea, what can God do in this? Humans have a hard time dealing with the unknown. You should not, you must not, you cannot settle for anything less that absolute assurance of your salvation. Not one person in this world has to live with doubt! God wants you to know that you can know, that you can have assurance. It is a blessing to have absolute 100% assurance of salvation! Jesus used this occasion to show everyone that he is the light of the world. The pharisees resisted both the fact of the healing and the message of Jesus. The blind man said, "He answered and said, whether he be a sinner or no, I know not: one thing I know, that, whereas I was blind, now I see." It is only the work of Jesus Christ that we are given spiritual sight to see Jesus for Who he is, the light of the world. We all need to thank God for opening our spiritual eyes.
