Be a Man: Who is Righteous. 1 Kings 2:2; Acts 11:19-26 Now every church needs an encourager like Barnabas. Righteousness and kindness is only possible because of the salvation we have in Christ and the Holy Spirit who lives within us. Here at Antioch Barnabas saw the grace of God in action as both Jews and Gentiles alike accepted the good news of the gospel. Barnabas saw the grace of God in action as people were being converted, lives were being transformed and believers were rejoicing in the Lord. How do we look at others? Even though believers aren't perfect as yet, do we see the grace of God working in their lives? Barnabas saw something in Antioch that made him rejoice. He was thrilled over what God was doing. How is it possible to become an encourager like Barnabas? He encouraged Paul. He encouraged the Antioch believers. Later he encouraged John Mark. It was through the help of the Holy Spirit who controlled his entire life - what he was and what he said. If you and I are to become like Barnabas, we too must do it in the power of God's Holy Spirit.
