To rob means to deprive someone of some right or some thing legally due. We are legally due death in Hell because of our sin but when Jesus arose from the grave that day he did something. In verse one we see the words “taken away” which mean to remove, take away, or to expiate sin. That word expiate means to atone for, to make amends, or reparation for a crime. So while these words are in reference to the stone that covered the tomb being removed they also apply to the work Jesus had done on the cross of Calvary. While He was at it though Jesus took more than that away from us, or at least is willing to take away from us some things that we don't need in our lives. Let's look and see what this grave robber can take away from us.
