God tells Abram to walk before Him and be perfect. Perfect in Hebrew is tamin תָמִֽים, which means a lifestyle or a physical condition. God was telling Abram his manner of living must be in accordance with His requirements for him. God then goes on to reaffirm the Abrahamic Covenant. Interestingly God presents these words I Will to him seven times in this chapter. He uses the word covenant thirteen times. Abram responded to this encounter with the Almighty by falling on his face. In His reaffirmation of the Covenant He tells Abram that he will be a father of a multitude of nations. The Arab nations are now included in the progeny that will come from his loins. Prior to this time The Angel of the Lord had told only Hagar this. God now changes his name from Abram to Abraham. The Gentile nations גֹּויִ֖ם goyim would also now come from him to
