The first ones to follow Jesus after He began his earthly ministry did not ask the first question, it was Jesus who asked them, "What seek ye?" So the question is not really, "Lord, what do you want of me?" but it is the Lord asking us, "What do you want of me?" "Why are you following me?" "What are you expecting of me?" Somehow that seems to have all gotten turned around so that it is us asking questions of the Lord, instead of the Lord asking us. It would be wise for us to stop talking and start listening to what the Lord would ask of us? It would also be wise for us to examine ourselves and be honest enough to acknowledge the truth about why we really want to follow Jesus. Are our motives selfish, or are we seeking the Lord for who He is?
