Mr. Hekman addresses our nation's only real answer to today's political and social ills.
Hekman was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan in 1947. He graduated from Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1969 and received his JD in Law from The George Washington University Law School in 1972.
Hekman returned to Grand Rapids to take on the job of Assistant Prosecuting Attorney in the Kent County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office. He left the job when elected in 1975 as Probate- Juvenile Judge in the Kent Country Probate Court. After his election, he worked to make major changes in the court that resulted in a substantial reduction of juvenile crime. He also authored Justice for the Unborn (Servant Press, 1984) that details a case that came before him and how our courts increasingly have departed from the rule of law.
After 15 years, Hekman left the bench to become the founding executive director of the Michigan Family Forum based in Lansing, Michigan. He led the non-profit research and education organization from 1990 to 1996. Hethen served as executive director of CBH Ministries for six years before pastoring at Crossroads Bible Church.
