I was at a new location for this morning's crosswalking efforts--the corner of Bridge and Kimberly. Earlier this week, a young man (21) was struck and critically injured while crossing the street, at this intersection.
Jasmine approached the corner wearing a light t-shirt with shortened sleeves and a light pair of pants. Winchill put the temperature in the low 20s. I offered her my coat, but she politely declined.
"So, what are you doing here?" She asked.
"Well, I'm here hoping people will stop to talk and hear how they can be reconciled to the God who created them, through faith in Jesus Christ," I replied.
Jasmine, about my youngest daughter's age, told me she was raised in a Christian home. Drugs and other bad decisions led her away from the church. Jasmine has been clean just a couple of weeks.
