How do you prove to yourself that Jesus is who He said He is? In John 10:30-42, Jesus answers this question. Jesus has just said, "I and the Father are one," (v30). This is massively revealing. When Jesus said that, immediately He was surrounded by men ready to stone Him (v32). Jesus appeals to them to consider His authenticating works during His ministry. He says that His works are, "from My Father." Then, in order to help them see who they are, Jesus quotes Psalm 82:6, which is a rebuke to the unjust judges of Israel. Jesus central message is this final section of John 10 is, "believe, because of my works." What would make you believe? Here Jesus says, "believe the works."
