We considered the 6 parts of the chapter related to the consecration service of the priests.
Firstly, we saw the preparation for it, verses 1-9. Christ is our atonement. We can have no fellowship with God except through Christ and in Christ.
Secondly, we looked at the bullock for sin offering, verses 10-14. Here again, we are reminded of our need for Christ. Unless we are justified by grace through faith in Christ crucified for us, our service and worship cannot be acceptable to God.
Thirdly, we touched on the ram for burnt offering, verses 15-18. Christ Jesus our Lord laid down his life for us in order that we might serve God. Let us gratefully imitate and wholeheartedly offer our bodies a living sacrifice unto God.
Fourthly, we studied the ram of consecration, verses 19-28. Here we learn that Christ Jesus redeem us that we may have fellowship with God not only by receiving His blessings, but serving him with our ears, our hands and our feet.
Fifthly, we considered briefly how the holy garment of the high priest was to passed down to the next high priest, verses 29-30. Again we are reminded about our Great high priest who because He has an unchangeable priesthood is able to save us to the uttermost.
Finally, we examined the additional instructions for the consecration of the priests. We learn here that one day, as the royal priesthood, covered by the perfect sacrifice of Christ we shall enjoy perfect fellowship with God forever and ever.
