“ Great Sermon! ” This was the crowning jewel of this 4 part series on our persecuted brethren. What made it so special for me was the way Martin handles Matthew 25:31-46. This is the most satisfying and meangiful explaination of faith and works I have ever heard. An absolute masterpiece! So many Preachers and other Christians in the west make it appear almost sacreligious to engage in good works because you are led believe that good works "are just filthy rags" and anyone who engages in good works aren't trusting in Christ's Atoning Sacrifice for Sin and are trying to work their way to Heaven. But Martin is right- all through the Bible(Old and New Testament) believers are exorted to Good Works. All Those grave opening Final Judgement scenes where the dead small and great, are standing before God,are being judged according to their works. I loved Martin's foundation and superstructure illustrations where we accept Christ and His righteousness and merits are imputed to us. This is the foundation of the believer's vindication. The good works we should be doing after conversion are the superstructure of the believer's vindication and are absolutely essential as Matt 25 thunders in no uncertain terms. I appreciated Martin's humble and soul searching confession about his own past negligence regarding the kind of good works Matthew 25 so forcefully thrusts in our faces during this Final Judgement Scene.
