The prophet has much to tell us in this verse about the Lord; as well as what we should be doing. The Lord is not resting in His holy temple, He is in motion. Just as Habakkuk's country was falling apart, and coming under attack by the world so are we under attack. The Lord is on duty, are we. We are called to be on the watch tower sounding the alarm to a lost and dying world. Also if we are truly on duty we will be giving encouragement to our fellow soldiers of the cross and sounding the warning to the enemy that we stand for the savoir Jesus. And the Lord is in shape; funny as that may sound. See He is the one who has secured us. Our faith must also be in shape, trusting in Him. When we get out of shape and trust in something other than God we are in trouble. Our means are like those who the prophet says are “not upright” that phrase means not in shape. Our true shape is to be living by our faith, faith that God Himself has given us to live by and grow up. The Lord is also ready, are we? He wants to nourish us up so that we can face the task. Even when we fall and stay down, if we will turn back to Him he will take us back. He will encourage us because the need is great. This world needs us to stand up and be ready and in motion. Are we ready? Revival stands ready for us, God stands ready for us, the world is ready for us to do something. The word of God needs to get out there. The Lord is… are we?
