Once again it is our privilege as the people of God to come to the Lord's Supper. This is a privilege that is extended to the children of God and to them alone, and it is our Lord's designated time to remember His sacrificial work, and to reflect upon its great significance in our lives. In this sermon I will answer the question posed in the title. I want to address this issue because of the growing confusion in Christ's church about the reality of hell itself, and how people can be delivered from going to such a place (if indeed it truly exists). In the body of the sermon I will raise and answer additional questions, each of which will result in a refutation of the misguided notions about salvation, held by both secular man and modern Christians. The sermon will conclude with an analysis of the reasons why some people will indeed end up in the place called hell for all eternity. And this conclusion will reveal why the atoning work of Jesus was so essential in history, and why it must be personally believed by each and every sinner. May God grant us insight into our Savior once again, and may we come to the Lord's Supper in a profitable and edifying way.
