As you may have already noticed by the outlines in your bulletins this morning, we will be starting something new and something big. And it will be one of the largest undertakings I have ever done so far, which will be the undertaking of an entire book. So far of all the series I have done in the past, have been messages on smaller sections of scripture or messages that were only topical in nature. And never one of such an undertaking as this which will be the undertaking of the entire first book of Peter. A book that talks very plainly about the struggles of the Christian, of being 'grieved by various trials' of life. One that talks of the many struggles and hardships we will encounter in the world, and within ourselves in being followers of Jesus. But a book that also tells us to 'gird up the loins of your mind' to pull up those mental bootstraps, because this is what the Christian Walk will be all about. But a walk that we do not need to walk alone. That walking with faith in Christ and with the Holy Spirit we can have that 'joy inexpressible and full of glory'. A book with straightforward and almost blunt applications for the life of the Christian.
