The next three chapters begin a trilogy where in Paul explains who Israel is and why they are so special to God. Chapter nine is a historical picture of their election by God, chosen individuals and the nature of the unilateral covenants He gave them. Chapter ten is a discussion of their status toward God and ignorance in the Church Age as to the Messiahship of Jesus. Chapter eleven concludes with a discussion of the Jews and Gentiles relationship to the Abrahamic Covenant and an admonition to the Church not to be wise in our conceits. This is because God has temporarily blinded them according to the Messiahship of Jesus. But someday all Israel will be saved. The Church has not replace the nation Israel on God's prophetic timetable.
