As we looked at the topic of Christian Liberty today, we reflected on how the Lord Jesus has "delivered from this present evil world" and "bondage to Satan" (WCF XX.i.).
We looked at Galatians 1:4 and then focused on the conversion of the Apostle Paul, who vehemently hated the Lord Jesus and everyone who followed him (Acts 26:9-11).
While engaged in his murderous mission, he was intercepted by the Lord himself (Acts 26:12-15), who sent him to the pagans, "to open their eyes so that they may turn from darkness to light and from the authority of Satan to God" (Acts 26:18).
We pondered how we are confronted by three great enemies: the world, the flesh, and the devil (James 3:15). We asked the question how to deal with obsessive thoughts and reflected on the importance of taking charge of our minds (Matthew 4:1-11; 8:16; Luke 8:28-29; 9:42; Acts 16:16-18; 19:13-16), as we resist the devil (James 4:7) and overcome him (Revelation 12:11).
