Shorter Catechism: ‘What is required in the sixth commandment?’ Answer: ‘The sixth commandment requireth all lawful endeavours to PRESERVE OUR OWN LIFE, & the LIFE OF OTHERS.’
We are to look after OUR BODIES.
We are also to look after OTHERS.
The duty of magistrates, judges & police officers.
Our duty to the less fortunate & in the family of God – James 2:15,16; Galatians 6:10.
This extends beyond the family of God. Furthermore, we ought to forbear all wrongs & refrain from doing harm to any person & to forgive those injuries which are done to us, returning good for evil.
The greatest good we can do for ourselves & others is regarding our SOULS.
