We begin to address today the final chapter of Paul’s First Epistle to the Thessalonians. The paragraph under our consideration is 5:1-11. The title of our message is “Prepared and Preparing
for the Second Coming of Jesus Christ.” We promote a minority view regarding the details of the future coming of our Lord. I am not dispensational, though I held to that belief system in my early years of the faith, like most others who hold the position I do today. Around 1980 0r 1981 I began to see that the “system” was not scriptural, which was promoted by the Scofield Study Bible and by the majority of good and godly men in evangelicalism. Now I know a differing view is often quite unsettling and upsetting to those who espouse dispensationalism. But I hope that you will prayer-full to read and reflect on these important matters.
