The Emperor Nero did not face death well. When things went wrong he fled the palace and sought escort and protection from the Praetorian Soldiers that once guarded him. They refused. One of those guards, disgusted with Nero's panic and cowardice, asked him if it was really that hard to die. Just a few years before the Apostle Paul stood trial for his life before Nero (and quite likely before these same soldiers). The Apostle Paul in contrast to Nero could face death with joy, satisfaction, and full assurance. It was because his life was Christ.
