Moses concludes his rehearsal of the giving of the Ten Commandments with these words of reminder and admonition. The Lord though laments the fact that these people have no heart that fears Him or will be able to keep His Commandments. Simply put, they will not keep His commandments because in truth they do not love Him and therefore cannot keep them.
Are we like them, outwardly assenting to the word of the Lord making covenant promises to Him, but in reality devoid of the Love that comes from a renewed heart that makes following his commandments possible?
