I. PAUL'S ADORATION OF THE BELIEVERS (Philippians 1:3-8)
A. Demonstrated by His Thankfulness (Philippians 1:3) 1. Paul thanked God for the believers. a. He did the same for the believers at Rome (Romans 1:8). Romans 1:8 First, I thank my God through Jesus Christ for you all, that your faith is spoken of throughout the whole world. b. He did the same for the believers at Corinth (1 Corinthians 1:4). 1 Corinthians 1:4 I thank my God always on your behalf, for the grace of God which is given you by Jesus Christ; c. He did the same for the believers at Ephesus (Ephesians 1:15-16). Ephesians 1:15-16 Wherefore I also, after I heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus, and love unto all the saints, 16 Cease not to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers; d. He did the same for the believers at Colosse (Colossians 1:3). Colossians 1:3 We give thanks to God and the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, praying always for you, e. He did the same for the believers at Thessalonica (1 Thessalonians 1:2; 2 Thessalonians 1:3; 2 Thessalonians 2:13). f. Only one church epistle failed to mention Paul's thankfulness: Galatians. 2. He did so every time they came to his remembrance.
