Paul expresses his appreciation, as he praises the Philippian church for sharing with him in his needs. They were the only church that assisted Paul after he had left from Macedonia, sending gifts more than once, even though they were not wealthy. But Paul's real goal was not as focused on his financial needs, as it was on the profit that would accrue to the Philippians spiritually. Their generous gift had arrived and provided Paul with an abundance, and he considered it as a fragrant, acceptable sacrifice, well-pleasing to God. Paul promised them that God would also richly supply all of their needs out of His abundance.
