To praise God is to respond to Him and to declare who God is and what He has done. In Psalm 19 David's praise comes out of his meditation on God's creation and His Word. This is a pattern of praise in his life that prepares him for times of crisis. In Psalm 27 David is sustained by praise in the "day of trouble" (v5) as he has been prepared by a pattern of praise. Like David we should seize opportunities to cultivate responses of praise; and we should choose to praise in all situations.
