Over the years as I have preached in a few different jails and detention centers I have often asked both male and female inmates: "How can I pray for you?" The answer is almost always: "Pray for my court date." These inmates know that they will soon face their judge to give an account for their violations of the law. Well, each of us has a day in court. When Jesus comes again the second time it will be the Day of Judgment. All of us will hear Him say to us one of two things. Either we will hear Him say: "Come, you blessed of My Father. Inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world." Or we will hear Him say: "Depart from Me, you cursed, into the everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels." What will you hear Him say? Nothing is more important than obtaining mercy from your judge.
