NOTE: The second example used in the final point of the sermon regarding Jeremiah 34:18-20 as being similar to Hebrews7:9-10 concerning the idea of federal headship (in the case of Hebrews it was Levi being in the loins of Abraham and giving tithes) upon further examination and discussion following the sermon was found to NOT be an accurate exegesis given the context in Jeremiah 34. It is far more likely and Biblically accurate to say that the covenant and two pieces referred to in that verse are in reference to a covenant made by the king of Judah in verse 8 rather than referring back to the covenant made with Abraham in Gen 15. The preacher apologizes for the mistake on that point.
