What is the grace of God? We sing, "Amazing grace, how sweet the sound that saved a wretch like me. I once was lost but now I am found, was blind but now I see." John Newton and hundreds of congregations and thousands of saints and sinners alike have sung of the grace of God. I mentioned saints and sinners, because many outside the church know the words of this famous song written by a slave trader turned Anglican priest. The amazing grace of God is humbling, transforming, and enables one to walk through anything with His presence. This morning, we want to gain a better understanding of the glorious doctrine of the grace of God. The title will be "Finding Hope in Fields of Grace. Naomi's daughter-in-law, Ruth happens to end up in the field of one of Elimelech's relatives. Boaz is a mighty man of wealth and power and He will shower grace on a poor Gentile woman named Ruth who is gleaning grain to provide food for her family. As the story unfolds, we will consider, 1) The Backstory of Grace 2) The Beauty of Grace 3) The Bounty of Grace
