Jesus concluded His first petition by declaring His sovereignty to the heavenly Father. We see Christ's Sovereign Manifestation - "I have manifested;" then, Christ's Sovereign Preservation - "I have kept, none of them is lost;" and Christ's Sovereign Mediation - "I pray for them." In these three truths believers find their security and assurance. Man must have an advocate to approach the thrice-holy God. He is Jesus Christ.
