Abraham was saved the same way we are: by faith V6: Abraham's example - Circumcision did not save Abraham, belief did. Circumcision came 14 years later. (Circumcision (as is Baptism) was a mark, not a means, of salvation). The Law was given 450 years later. V7 - A true descendent of Abraham puts faith in the Lord the same as Abraham. V8 - God spoke to Abraham (before the scriptures were written) and said that Gentiles would be saved by faith. V9 - I am blessed because Jesus my Savior came through the Jewish family and thankful because: = Testimony to Mono-Theism = Recorded and preserved the Word of God = Jesus our Savior born through Jews V10 - Those who are of the works of the law are under a curse. = A curse is God's divine judgment = If you think that works can save you, you are under a curse, God's divine judgment = The curse is: if you don't keep all the law, you break all the law = You cannot tie faith and works together. They are opposites
