The first actual mention of the word, "covenant" is found here. The others we have dealt with, aside from the marital covenant, do not have the actual word, but, have the features that covenants have. With this covenant found in the Word of God, as with the others, there are elements that point us or bring us to Christ. Here we see the holiness and judgment of God, as well as, the mercy and grace of God. Without realizing it, we are enjoying some benefits of this covenant today and some are future for the redeemed of the Lord to enjoy. |
